Straightline Collectibles is run by Mark Schneider and sells the most affordable reproduction hats but they also appear to be the least accurate in appearance based on the photos available.
Straightline claims "Same leather hatband as the one on Eastwood's hat." however it is very different from the one seen on screen. It is not the "Same" despite the claim.
Straightline offers offer two hats.
This quality genuine rabbit fur hat is an amazing replica of the one Clint Eastwood wore in "A Fistful of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More", and "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly". Same leather hatband as the one on Eastwood's hat. Hat can be shaped by hand.
- Sizes Available: 7 3/8, 7 5/8
- Price: $135.00

Straightline Collectible's Wool felt hat
Some photos of the Straightline Collectibles' Wool felt hat that we received.

Shipped loose in box, wrapped in plastic

Crown is oval shaped. Not teardrop shaped like the original.

The side view is noticeably different than in Straightline's photos. The hat band is also noticeably different.

High side view

The front view. The brim is relatively flat the entire way around and has a large pencil roll edge.

The interior is unlined and features a rubbery faux leather headband

The inside of Straightline Collectibles' hat

Sharpie pen ink was used to cover one edge of the leather and looks like it was applied by a chimpanzee.

The edge of the leather is coloured sloppily with what was clearly a Sharpie pen.

The pattern is barely raised. And NOT the same hat band pictured in their product listings. Sharpie ink visible on the face side.
Got the hat delivered today. Big disappointment!. Seems like a cheap knock-off costume piece. Not at all how it was described or pictured in material or color, stiff as a board, and doesn't even fit. Even the hatband was cheap and felt like rubber instead of tooled leather. The design on it was barely visible too. What a rip-off for a $60 hat that should have been at least something closer to the real movie for that price. - Thomas
Hat size is round more than oval. Fits miserably. On a stretcher to reshape now if possible - Howard B.
I’ve bought a couple of other Straightline items that I’ve been very happy with but I was disappointed with this hat. It’s the lowest price option you will find around for this particular famous hat but the quality isn’t what I’d hoped. It is extremely stiff, and will definitely need a lot of reshaping to match what is seen in the films which may prove difficult. (It has the flexibility of stiff plastic and pops back to original shape when attempted.)I will do my best to make the best of this hat but it seems clear to me that I will need to replace it with a more expensive version by another maker.I will use this hat to test out aging and weathering techniques that I would be too nervous to do on something more expensive.Would I buy this hat again? Probably not. I feel it’s overpriced for what it is.It should be noted that the photos shown of this hat do not accurately reflect what I received. The shape of the hat is quite different than the photos and the hatband is also different and of lower quality than pictured. If low cost is your main motivation then I guess this could do but if you are chasing accuracy, I’d recommend a different hat.. - Rachel and Jay
